Description

The 1978 USPS Mint Set of Commemorative Stamps includes 28 mint, never hinged stamps with original gum mounted within the mylar sleeves of the album. Highlights of the 1978 commemorative issue for me as an arts educator in my youth are the Styles of American Dance Block of 4 (Scott #1749-1752), the George M. Cohan (Scott # 1756), Jimmie Rodgers (Scott #1755), and Carl Sandburg (Scott #1731) singles along with the Vintage Photography commemorative (Scott #1758). Having just studied the Underground Railroad for the first time in Junior High History class, I loved the Harriet Tubman Black History issue (Scott #1744).
