Description
Vintage 1964 Senior Statesman Postage Stamp Album , Majority of Pages Blank. Price reduced! Shipping method changed to Ground Advantage as of November 12 for further savings. The album is housed in a 12" x 9.75" vinyl binder with two metal pins that clamp the paper contents in place (no rings). At its narrowest, the ream of papers in the binder is 1.25" thick. Weighs 5.5 lbs. This 60-year-old album belonged to my grandmother, who collected stamps passively starting in the 1950's. The only pages in this album that have canceled stamps are those for countries in which her son traveled or those in which her daughter's pen pals lived. The majority of pages have no stamps inserted. The photos show samples of pages with stamps (Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, and Spain) and without (Peru and Phillipines). I didn't go page by page, so there are probably more countries represented with cancelled stamps than those described here. I found one Canadian stamp that had come untaped, so it's loose in the binder. The seventh photo (the one that follows the colored atlas) shows evidence of some pages having been torn out or removed. World or regional maps, maybe?? I don't know what those pages contained. The existing pages start with US Air Post Stamps, and a few pages later the world's countries (circa 1964) in alphabetical order, starting with Aden and ending with Zanzibar. The front and rear cover pages are sealed inside the transparent structure of the vinyl binder and are not removable. Some yellowing has occurred, but it's not bad. The front cover sports a cream and maroon graphic, while the back cover is all cream. The inside front and back covers of the binder are maroon. The pages have deckled edges which have yellowed over the ages (more brown, really). The page faces, where you glue your collected stamps, are an antique white, but are clean and untorn. For what it's worth, I'm including a batch of vintage envelopes, as shown in the third photo. Three are empty "First Day of Issue" envelopes, and two are blank 6-cent Air Mail envelopes. SEE ALL PHOTOS. No returns. Please message me if you have any questions. Thanks for your interest! I am a hobby seller, not a dealer.
